Linda supervised all aspects of web site production for Bankrate.com and focused a large portion of her time on development of new content and new Web sites.

This position entailed setting policy and determining direction for Bank Rate Monitor On-line, as well as supervising the day-to-day operations of the Web sites.
On-line editor (July 1996 – July 1997)
Linda began to focus exclusively on the on-line editorial product at this point, writing and editing copy from freelancers, as well as designing and posting pages.
Managing editor (April 1994 – July 1996)
Linda joined Bank Rate Monitor as managing editor of the four print newsletters. She wrote stories, edited copy, designed pages and supervised production. Much of the writing related to development of on-line financial services.

Linda assisted the city editor in all newsroom management capacities from reporter assignments to copy editing and paste-up; functioned as city editor, suburban editor and wire editor in their absences; edited the business page and special sections and wrote occasional columns. This was a 20,000 daily newspaper. (She took a one-year leave of absence to live in Scotland in 1990.)
The Palm Beach Post, West Palm Beach, FL, (1984 – 1987)
Linda supervised the north Palm Beach County bureau and did general assignment and project reporting for this 200,000 circulation daily. She received the third place 1986 Florida Press Club award for public service.
The St. Louis Globe-Democrat, St. Louis, MO, (1979 – 1984)
Linda was bureau chief in the rural county to the south of St. Louis and later in St. Louis County itself for this 270,000 daily newspaper. She covered the city of St. Louis, and worked in the police and court bureaus for both the city and county.
The Fond du Lac Reporter, Fond du Lac, WI, (1977 – 1979)
Linda was entertainment editor and feature writer.
